These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through Wilson Hardwoods Co. By placing an order through our website, you agree to these terms.
Please read them carefully before placing your order.
1. About Us
Wilson Hardwoods Co supplies hardwoods, softwoods, timber blanks, offcuts and other timber products, including products that may be cut, machined or prepared to customers’ requirements.

2. Placing an Order
By placing an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products selected.
Once your order has been received, you will receive an order confirmation. Acceptance of your order takes place when we confirm the order and/or begin processing it for dispatch.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where:
- A product is unavailable or has been incorrectly listed.
- An incorrect price or product specification has been displayed.
- We are unable to fulfil a requested size or specification.
- We are unable to deliver to the address provided.
- We reasonably suspect fraudulent or unauthorised activity.
If we cancel an order after payment has been received, any amount paid for the cancelled goods will be refunded.
3. Prices & Payment
All prices displayed on our website are in Pounds Sterling (£) unless otherwise stated.
The total price payable, including any applicable delivery charges, will be shown during checkout before you complete your purchase.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available through our website.
We take reasonable care to ensure prices are displayed correctly. If an obvious pricing error occurs, we reserve the right to cancel the affected order and issue a full refund.
4. Timber Is a Natural Product
Timber is a natural material and no two pieces will be identical.
Natural variations can include differences in:
- Colour and shade
- Grain pattern and direction
- Figure and texture
- Mineral streaks and natural markings
- Knots and other characteristics appropriate to the species
- Sapwood and heartwood colour
- Moisture content
- Natural movement
Product photographs are intended to provide a representative indication of the species, colour and appearance unless a listing specifically states that the photograph shows the exact piece being purchased.
Natural variations that are reasonably characteristic of the timber species supplied are not considered defects.
5. Timber Movement & Storage
Timber is a natural, hygroscopic material and can respond to changes in temperature and humidity.
Some movement, including minor bowing, cupping, twisting, expansion or contraction, can occur as timber acclimatises to its environment.
Customers are responsible for appropriately storing and acclimatising timber after delivery and before installation, machining or use.
We recommend storing timber flat, adequately supported and in suitable environmental conditions.
This section does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty or not as described.
6. Dimensions & Tolerances
We take reasonable care when preparing timber to the dimensions stated or requested.
However, timber dimensions may be subject to small manufacturing and machining tolerances, particularly where timber has been sawn or machined.
Nominal dimensions and finished dimensions may differ where this is clearly stated within the relevant product description.
If your project requires particularly precise dimensions or tolerances, please contact us before ordering to confirm whether your requirements can be accommodated.
7. Sawn Timber
Where timber is described as rough sawn or sawn, customers should expect a rough, unfinished surface unless otherwise stated.
Sawn timber may require further machining, planing, sanding or preparation before its final use.
Dimensions of rough-sawn material may also vary slightly due to the nature of the product and the sawing process.
8. Bespoke & Cut-to-Size Products
Where timber has been cut, machined, modified or otherwise prepared specifically to your requested dimensions or specifications, it may be considered a bespoke or personalised product.
Bespoke products may not be eligible for cancellation or return simply because you have changed your mind.
Please ensure that all dimensions and specifications supplied to us are correct before placing your order.
This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
9. Availability
Timber availability can change and certain species, dimensions or products may occasionally become unavailable after an order has been placed.
If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will contact you and may offer a suitable alternative where appropriate.
You will not be required to accept an alternative. If we cannot fulfil your order and no suitable alternative is agreed, the affected item or order will be refunded.
10. Processing & Delivery
We aim to process orders within the timeframe stated in our Delivery Information section.
Delivery times provided are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise.
The courier or delivery method used may vary depending on the dimensions, weight, value and destination of the order.
Larger orders may be divided into multiple parcels or delivered by a private or specialist courier.

11. Delivery Address
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address when placing an order.
Please check your delivery information carefully before completing your purchase.
Additional costs resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the customer may be chargeable where permitted by law.
12. Delivery Damage
We package our products carefully to minimise the risk of damage during transportation.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and retain the product and all associated packaging.
We may request photographs of the product, parcel and packaging to assist us in investigating the issue with the courier.
Your statutory rights in relation to damaged or faulty goods are unaffected.
13. Returns & Refunds
Returns, cancellations and refunds are governed by our separate Returns & Refunds Policy, which should be read alongside these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
14. Product Images & Website Information
We make every reasonable effort to ensure product descriptions, photographs, dimensions and other information on our website are accurate.
Because screens and devices display colours differently, we cannot guarantee that the colour shown on your screen will exactly represent the colour of the timber received.
Images of natural timber should be considered representative unless expressly stated to show the exact item for sale.
15. Intended Use
It is the customer’s responsibility to determine whether a particular timber species, product, dimension or specification is suitable for their intended application.
Where we provide general guidance regarding timber selection or use, this is provided in good faith based on the information available to us.
For structural, safety-critical or specialist applications, customers should obtain appropriate professional advice where necessary.
16. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Where permitted by law, we will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
If you are purchasing as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects the legal rights and remedies available to you under UK consumer law.
17. Business Customers
If you are purchasing goods wholly or mainly for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft or profession, you will be treated as a business customer rather than a consumer.
Certain consumer cancellation and protection rights may therefore not apply to business purchases.
